Hi! I’m Cassie Strauss, the new Healthy Soil Healthy Water Intern. I was born and raised on a small farm in Watertown, Wisconsin and have always had a love for nature and exploring. After high school, I went to the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and graduated this May with my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. With my degree, I hope to work with natural resources or conservation and hopefully make a difference in sustaining our outdoors.
Being the new Healthy Soil Healthy Water Intern I will be assisting Dr. Loretta with on farm trials using cover crops as ways to reduce erosion, compaction and control weeds. I am excited to spend this summer increasing my knowledge of agriculture with the help of Dr. Loretta.
Here’s to making the soil and water as healthy as we can! Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at the Dodge County UW-Extension office at 920-386-3790.
